Director of the School of Government, Social Sciences and Humanities of the ITESM. Dr. Dieck Assad studied (1971-75) and obtained a degree in Economics at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM) with honourable mention; she has a Masters in Economic Development (1975-76) by Vanderbilt University (USA), obtaining her degree with the thesis “The built-in flexibility of the Income Tax System in Mexico”; and a PhD in Economics (1978-83) by the University of Texas in Austin (USA), finishing this degree with the paper presentation, “The effect of economic shocks under different monetary procedures and different economic structures”, which she wrote during her time spent as assistant researcher at Brookings Institution. During her doctorate studies her specialities were: Currency and Banking, Quantitative Methods (Econometrics and Time Series), Economic Planning and Economic Development.
