She has conducted Studies in Physics and Chemistry at the Central University of Venezuela, with a PhD in Engineering from the University of California. An independent advisor of the company, British American Tobacco, the second most important tobacco company in the world and personal adviser to Peter Wood, Executive Chairman of the insurance company, Esure.
She forms part of the taskforce on guidelines for good corporate government in Spain, appointed by the National Securities Market Commission on the request of the Council of Ministers. Named by The Times newspaper, in 2004, one of the 100 most influential advisers in England. She received the award to the Distinguished Director of the year and Financial Executive of the year in 2005 and the Enterprising Award of the year (Viaplus) 2001.
